Actress Milla Jovovich Has an Alternative for Keto Diet – Science Times

Actress Milla Jovovich told People magazine in an interview that the keto diet can be difficult to sustain. A keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet plan that can burn fat instead of the carbohydrates that your intake for energy. The actress said she follows an 80 percent vegetable-based diet and watches the food that she eats and her portions instead of following the keto diet.

Milla Jovovich has taken a stand against the popular keto diet, joining other celebrities like Kelly Ripa and Jillian Michaels. She told People magazine in a recent interview that the low-carb, high-fat meal plan is difficult to sustain.

The keto diet restricts you from eating carb-based foods like pastas, breads, cakes and certain fruits to give ketosis. Ketosis is a process by which your body burns the fat that your intake for energy instead of carbohydrates. A lot of celebrities testified that it helped them lose a massive amount of weight, but the actress told People magazine: “You kind of have to be an expert in nutrition.”

Thousands of people like the Keto diet because it has the ability to help you lose a lot of weight quickly. A research has shown that the keto diet can result in short-term weight loss because it can help you control your hunger and your urges, and it can improve fat oxidative metabolism. The foots that are rich in fat have a satiating effect on your body, so you will feel fuller longer.

The keto diet has also been proven to control your blood sugar level, so it is ideal for those with type 2 diabetes, which is why actress Halle Berry took a liking to this diet. Although the keto diet can help you lose weight short-term and it benefits those with type 2 diabetes, health experts agree that the keto diet is difficult to sustain, which is why a lot of people opt for other diet plans.

The reason why the keto diet is difficult to sustain is because once you go off the keto diet, you can gain all the pounds that you lost back. Nutritionists also do not like the idea of a short-term plan for the keto diet, as they always aim for long-term plans. The diet is also very restrictive to your food intake, so may end up consuming carbohydrates that are less than what is required in a day.

There are also side effects that you experience at the beginning of the diet. Some of the symptoms are hunger, irritability, fatigue, low mood, headaches, constipation and brain fog. A meal plan that is sustainable and can better serve your lifestyle are highly encouraged. For Jovovich, a mostly veggie-based diet is the trick.

“I changed my lifestyle over a year ago to prepare for a new action film I’m doing called Monster Hunter that’s coming out in 2020,” Jovovich told People. “To be honest, I just found that making sure that 80 percent of my diet during the week is vegetable-based and everything else is just smaller portions, helped my skin, helped my energy levels, just helped everything,” she says.

The star also makes time to work out “every day” to boost her energy levels. “Mentally I just feel so much better,” she said. “I used to get overwhelmed and deal with depression, I just feel so much sharper.”

Lisa Riley is an actress and presenter who played the role of Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale between 1995 and 2001, and again in 2019.  She has also appeared on television as a panelist on the ITV show, Loose Women.  Recently, fans have noticed Lisa go through a huge weight loss transformation where she has lost a remarkable 12st.  Lisa has also slimmed down by seven dress sizes, but how did she lose the weight?

The actress revealed she slimmed down waistline and opened up to share tips on how others can do the same.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lisa explained how slimmers can stay on top of their goals and get back on track after a set back.

She said: “Everyone is bound to have little blips along the way, but don’t see that as failure and a signal to give up – just draw a line under it and move on.”

Lisa revealed she likes to start her day with a cup of hot water and lemon and binned all junk food from her cupboards when trying to lose weight.

She also used portion control to help her slim down from a size 28 to a trim size 12.

Lisa told the Mirror: “I had made myself fat by gorging on bread, crisps, crumpets and red wine.

“Once I accepted responsibility for my health, weight and lifestyle it made it easier to take control. You don’t have to have starter, main and pudding.

“If you are doing that you are eating too much.”

The soap star has also used her Instagram profile to give fans an insight into how she has stayed in shape.

Posting a picture of her before and after losing weight on Instagram, she revealed cutting out alcohol also helped her achieve her slim figure.

She posted: “Making this my lifestyle at least five days a week.

“I watch what I eat day in day out, STILL not a drop of alcohol in nearly four years. THIS IS CHANGE OF LIFE…..not a diet.”

The star also uses her Instagram account to post pictures of her healthy meals to give fans a glimpse of what she eats day-to-day.

Lisa revealed she exercises for a minimum of 30-minutes every day and has started eating meals out of a bowl to help with portion control.

The Emmerdale star released her diet book, Honesty Diet, and one woman recently lost 1st 6lb following the plan for 28-days.

Slimmer Claire documented her weight loss on ITV’s Save Money: Lose Weight and showed how Lisa’s plan helped her slim down from 18st 8lb to 17st 2lb in just four weeks.
